SafeVPN L2TP setup example on MAC OS X 10.5/10.6/10.7

This L2TP setup example fully compatible with MAC OS X 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7

step 1

Start from System Preferences…

Click on Network in System Preferences window.

Press + to add new connection.

You should see pop down menu now. Check next step

Under Interface choose VPN option

Under VPN type choose L2TP over IPsec option
and fill Service Name as SafeVPN (L2TP). That’s not critical – you can choose any name.
Press Create button

Under Server address put your server IP, you can check correct settings in Customer Area
and under Account name put your Username

Click on Authentication settings… button

Under Password put your VPN password
and under Shared secret put your L2TP key.
Press Ok to save details.

Press Advanced button now.

Check the box Send all traffic over VPN connection and click Ok.

Use Apply button to save VPN connection settings.

VPN configured – you’re star!
You can connect VPN using Connect button

Once connected you can see your VPN IP address and connection status

To disconnect VPN use Disconnect button
