Windows XP PPTP setup example, no encryption

This setup example for PPTP connection without encryption!

step 1

Start from My computer
Right mouse click on My Network Places and choose Properties option

Click on Create a new connection.

To continue click Next

Select Connect to network at my workplace option and press Next

step 5

Select Virtual Private Network connection option and press Next

step 6

Under Company name put SafeVPN PTPP(it’s not critical – you can choose any name).
Press Next button

Under Host name put your server IP address and press Next button
Can get correct server IP address in Customer Area

Check box Add shortcut on desktop… if you need icon on desktop for this connection
and press Finish button

Click Properties

Under Security tab uncheck option Require data encryption…

Under Networking tab click on Type of VPN and choose PPTP VPN type
Press Ok to save connection changes.

Under User name put your Username
and under Password put your VPN Password.

Check option Save this user name and password… if you would like to save username and password.
Windows will save user name and password so next time you would like connect will no need enter again.
Press Connect button to connect VPN.

During VPN connection you can see connection status

Once connected to VPN you will see message about successfull connection in tray(near clock).

Again click on VPN connection icon and you will able Disconnect VPN connection

You can connect VPN using desktop icon, if you create such one

or can connect from Network connections
